Chronic Pain Treatment

Chronic Pain Treatment

Chronic pain treatment requires a team effort. If you suffer with chronic pain, you should take the condition very seriously. Pain is the signal from the body that tells us something is wrong. This is how the body cries out for help. The longer you let this chronic pain  continue, the more possible damage is occurring. In simple terms, chronic pain can be from the internal organs/systems, or external from the musculo-skeletal system. When you have a minor injury such as a strain from gardening too much, or an illness such as the flu, the body is able to quickly correct the situation. If the injury or illness is too severe, then the coping mechanism of the body is unable to contain or get rid of the condition. Your body needs help.

There are reasons that illnesses or injury become chronic. These will be listed below.

  • You did not pay much attention to the initial pain and you thought that it would go away by itself.
  • You tried to fix it yourself with faulty advice or home remedies.
  • Your Doctor gave you a prescription/advice, which you did not act on.
  • Your Doctor made a wrong diagnosis and you got inappropriate care.
  • You did not take the medication as prescribed.
  • You did not go for the therapy which was suggested.
  • You went for therapy, but not regular and you did not follow all the advice.
  • You received wrong therapy for the condition.
  • You decided to dictate you own therapy.

Are you getting a view of the picture I am painting? You have to take responsibility for your health and chronic pain treatment. You have to apply yourself and follow advice. If you do this and you are not getting well or obtaining pain relief, see another Doctor. It is your Health, your Life, take responsibility for your chronic pain treatment.

The reason that you have to be aggressive and take charge of your chronic pain treatment, is because with chronic pain conditions, you are the one that is damaged, you are the one that suffers. Over my 30 years of practicing, I have seen too many patients whose health has been severely damaged and life shattered. Initiating a good chronic pain treatment program and helping them restore their life, takes a lot of time and resources.

Brain Damage

Lack of a focused chronic pain treatment plan, damages the body and also the brain. Chronic pain causes you stress and stress has been shown to cause death to cells in certain parts of the brain. Chronic back pain does the same to certain parts of the brain. When cells are dying off in certain parts of the brain, the brain itself in subtle ways begin to malfunction. Before you realize it, these minor malfunctions contribute to more stress on the body. Chronic back pain affects certain parts of the brain which help with decision making. When you begin making bad decisions, it may affect your body and emotional well being. Hence the necessity of a sound chronic pain treatment program.

Fibromyalgia

As chronic pain progresses, the initial chronic pain focus, begins to spread throughout the body and musculo-skeletal system. Touching the patient becomes extremely painful. Sleep patterns are off. The fibromyalgic patient does not sleep much. This of course causes more stress to the body and damage to the brain. All systems become weakened as the body tries its’ best to cope. The immune system weakens and some researchers state that bacteria and viruses develop in the muscle tissue because resistance is weakened. The patient is in a fog from lack of sleep. Their memory, focus and concentration are off. They are in another world. They need help, their body and nervous system can no longer cope. One of the worst patients I saw was about seven years ago. She had fibromyalgia for thirteen years. She looked awful and mentally was not functioning very well due to lack of focus and concentration. About four weeks into therapy, she came into my office, sat down and started to cry. She said “Do you know how good it feels to be able to sleep again?” I cried with her, because I was so happy for her!

Chronic Pain Therapy

A focused chronic pain treatment program has the patient start with a gentle 9 Day Body Cleanse. You don’t want to cause more stress to the system, but you want to begin to cleanse the body. Drinking 4-6 glasses of water is a must for helping to flush out toxins from the body. Next is the NeuroLink Program*. This program restores balance and energy to all systems of the body as it cleanses bacteria and virus from the tissues. Hence the importance of drinking water. After about two weeks, the introduction of the Patented Amino Acids helps with healing and stage 2&3 Liver Detoxification. This is necessary because of all the medication that the patient has been taking over the years. The end product of the medication ends up in the liver, hence the specific detoxification. For advance healing and regeneration, Stem Enhance is introduced to begin the process of re-building damaged tissue.

With the focused chronic pain treatment program, sleeping, strength and some concentration begin to return, walking and return to daily activities are introduced. After about 8 weeks, gentle rehab exercises are introduced to suit the patients’ needs. The patient is still fragile, but they are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. They are happier and experiencing minor pains.
